Kim Skellington
Kim graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with her Master’s in Genetic Counseling. Eager to serve patients in reproductive healthcare, she began her career as a clinical prenatal genetic counselor. Building on this foundational understanding of the clinic and prenatal setting, she then set out to gain experience working for a laboratory, counseling on preimplantation genetic testing. Through these positions, the challenge of navigating the complex genetic testing landscape became apparent not only for patients but providers. Her goal is to empower patients to make decisions that best align with their values through proper informed consent and to create resources for providers to confidently support their patients.
