Thierry Vilboux, Ph.D

Thierry Vilboux, Ph.D. is a senior staff fellow in the Personalized Medicine team at the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), FDA. He is a human geneticist and a biologist with a dual expertise in molecular/cellular biology and bioinformatics. Dr. Vilboux joined the FDA 2 years ago and focuses on regulatory and policy issues for in vitro diagnostic products related to advances in medical and scientific knowledge and technologies. He has over 20 years of experience in planning, organizing, and conducting independent health-related research in fields of genetics, genomics, molecular and cellular biology, and personalized medicine. He has established and managed both research and clinical laboratories and is a prolific published writer with more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals (New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Methods and Nature Genetics). Dr. Vilboux has a Ph.D. in Genetics and a Master of Science in biology and health.
